GRASKOP – In a shocking turn of events a trusted forestry employee in charge of fighting timber theft, has been charged with that exact crime.
Various reliable sources confirmed to Lowvelder that a man working for one of the biggest forestry companies in the Lowveld, was charged with stealing large amounts of timber. This apparently followed an internal investigation.
The identity of the suspect is known to Lowvelder but is being withheld until more details are known. It is alleged that the man even had teams working for him that would go into different plantations to illegally harvest the timber trees.
The case was opened at the Graskop police station by his employees. Read more in the next edition of Lowvelder.
