
BARBERTON – A paraglider crashed near Barberton a short while ago.
He is part of the contingent that is taking part in the Barberton Paragliding Open this week. According to an eyewitness he fell shortly after take-off.
A rescue operation to reach the man is underway. The area he crashed in is accessible by foot, but rugged.
It is not known if he is injured. He took off from Abbott’s Hill, a popular paragliding starting point in the mountains above Barberton Golf Club.
The competition stated today and will conclude on Saturday.
