
The premier event on the South African national off-road racing calendar sadly came to an end on Sunday after the promising young rider, Bernard McGee, sustained a serious injury. McGee who participated for the second time in this grueling event, broke both his tibia and fibula on the last day of the Toyota Desert 1000 race. According to his brother, Clifford, Bernard was at the time of the accident laying third overall and first in his class. Bernard is currently in theater.
