MBOMBELA – The MEC for education, Ms Reginah Mhaule, this week wished the participants the best of luck for the competition.
“The South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod is one of the school curriculum enrichment programmes which the department supports as it aims to promote unity, social transformation and cohesion among young South Africans.”
Mhaule thanked the teachers, conductors and parents of the participating children for helping them succeed. “This competition has the potential to unearth talent, instil discipline and expose our learners to the highest levels of musical renditions.”
According to the department the participants obtained first positions in their different genres at the provincial championships in May to qualify for the national competition. It takes place in Durban on Tuesday to Thursday of next week.
