President Jacob Zuma orders the SIU to investigate the Greater Tubatse Municipality
The SIU will also investigate the South African Post Office (SAPO), State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Vhembe District Municipality (VSM) and the National Departments of Labour, Public Works and Transport.
BURGERSFORT- President Jacob Zuma has directed the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to investigate issues relating to maladministration and alleged corruption at the Greater Tubatse Municipality (GTM). The SIU will also investigate the South African Post Office (SAPO), State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Vhembe District Municipality (VDM) and the National Departments of Labour, Public Works and Transport.
Areas to be investigated by the SIU pertaining to the three national departments and the two municipalities include the following allegations:
•Serious maladministration in connection with the affairs of the departments
•Improper or unlawful conduct by employees of the departments,
•Unlawful appropriation or expenditure of public money or property
• Unlawful, irregular or unapproved acquisitive act, transaction, measure or practice having a bearing upon State property;
•Intentional or negligent loss of public money or damage to public property;
•Alleged offences related to Chapter 2 of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, 2004 (Act No. 12 of 2004), and
•Unlawful or improper conduct by any person, which has caused or may cause serious harm to the interest of the public.
