MANGWENI – A group of not more than 10 men are at the heart of a service delivery protest which begun this morning.
According to bystanders the group is protesting in the name of demanding water services, however, as a community they were not informed of the protest.
The main road entering and exiting Mangweni has been barricaded with stones and tree logs by the group of men traveling in an Isuzu van.
Two schools have been disrupted as a result of the protest, according to learners, they were released from school by their principals.
“We were sent home by our principal, because he feared that the protesters might come into the school as they did last time during a strike. They slapped him last time after he refused to release us,”said a Nkomazi Secondary School learner.
