MBOMBELA – The chief executive officer of the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) left his position* earlier this week.
Mr Eric Kholwane, MEC for the department of economic development and tourism under which the entity falls, told Lowvelder today that Adv Boyce Mkhize was relieved of his duties on Tuesday.
Kholwane said he took the decision on the recommendation of the agency’s interim board who had decided that Mkhize was not the right man to take the agency forward. The latter has been CEO of the entity, tasked with the province’s economic development since December 2012.
Kholwane would not comment on the terms of the golden handshake Mkhize will get for leaving before the expiry of his contract.
