Another R40 accident claims six lives

A truck and panel van collided on the R40 between White River and Hazyview earlier this afternoon, resulting in the death of six people.

A collision between a truck and a panel van just after 16:00 on the R40 between White River and Hazyview resulted in the death of six people. This follows the horrific accident in June where ten people burnt to death after a truck collided with a bus on the same road.

According to Mr Moete Musi of the Department of Safety and Security, the two vehicles were travelling towards White River when the panel van collided with the back of the truck. The truck was carrying a load of passengers. Both vehicles lost control and overturned.

Six people were killed and 13 injured. Eleven seriously injured people were taken to Themba and Rob Ferreira Hospitals.
