Four Emjindini residents are feared to be among the South Africans who were killed when a church building collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria. Eighty six people died.

The four were in Lagos when the hostel housing pilgrims to TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (Scoan) collapsed on September 12.

One who has not been accounted for and did not arrive back in South Africa on Monday, is a former Umjindi Municipality official. Another is a former school principal.

The relative of another missing person confirmed to Barberton Times that they were anxiously waiting for news about their whereabouts.

“He was at Scoan in Nigeria when the building collapsed. We learnt that certain government officials are coming to meet us today (Tuesday). We are currently waiting,” she said.
