Car crash at R37 road

“We tried to avoid the collision but it was too late because it happened so quickly,” he added. Both cars were badly damaged but no one was reported to be seriously injured, except for one passenger in the Camry who sustained a minor head injury.

BURGERSFORT – The R37 road constantly experiences accidents and is regarded as one of the most dangerous roads in Limpopo. On September 18, yet another accident occurred on the same road a few kilometres from town. The incident took place at 8:00 in the morning near Burgersfort Auto Care. It involved a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corolla. The Camry was coming from town while the Corolla came from Mashifane Village and tried to turn into the R37.

“We were driving from town to Moroke Burglar Hardware when the female driver of the Toyota Corolla intersected without observing oncoming cars. She had to observe before entering the road because it is a T-junction and we had the right of way,”said a passenger in the Toyota Camry, Mr Aslam Limbada.

“We tried to avoid the collision but it was too late because it happened so quickly,” he added. Both cars were badly damaged but no one was reported to be seriously injured, except for one passenger in the Camry who sustained a minor head injury.

Meanwhile, two people died on the same road when a minibus taxi and another vehicle collided near Polokwane, Limpopo, paramedics said on Sunday. The two died instantly while sixteen others sustained injuries, said Netcare spokesman Santi Steinmann. The cause of the accident was not known.

These accidents attest that the R37 road is deadly and that motorists need to be cautious when they use it.
