MALALANE – Investigation to establish cause of fire at Obaro Malelane is already underway.
Preliminary reports indicate that the cause of the fire was an uncontrolled veldfire which jumped the fence, and set on the premises pipes alight.
According to Sgt Bheki Nkosi, police and fire fighters have not yet established the actual cause of the fire.
“An inquiry case has been opened and is already underway to establish the cause of the fire, which was responsible for the burning of the Obaro storeroom. Fortunately the fire only burnt the back of the shop, and was brought under control before it could cause further damage,” said Nkosi.
Community members turned out in their numbers to help bring the fire under control.
