
MBOMBELA – Many South African Post Office employees have been on strike since September 13. Amidst the frustration experienced by their clients, these employees are continuing to strike.
The post office’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Hlekane, has reportedly been placed on extended leave during last week.
Clients have been expressing their frustrations on social media sites. Some of the problems caused by the strike include that assignments due to correspondence universities never reached their destination and that many a patient’s chronic medicine has not been reaching the patient in time.
Mr Mlu Mathonsi, Chief Operating Officer of the post office on national level, has indicated that the extent of the damage that has been incurred by the strike has not been determined yet.
