New school ready to instil christian values in learners
“I did not want the school to be in the crowded area, children will concentrate effectively in a quiet environment, and they will also be away from criminals roaming the streets and drugs lords.
BURGERSFORT – The Greater Tubatse area has a new Christian school that will improve the spiritual well-being, emotions, and discipline of the local children.
The Hillchrist Christian School is owned by Mr Blessing Chiringigwa and is a subsidiary of Watershed Christian school in Mbombela.“We have realised that most local schools are overcrowded and some children can’t get space which makes this new school crucial.
Also we had a lot of learners from Tubatse enrolling at Watershed and we felt it was vital to open another school here,” Chiringigwa told Steelburger/Lydenburg News.
Chiringwa added that the learners would no longer need to travel to other provinces for a Christian school.
The school currently has learners from grade eight to 11 and according to Chiringigwa in 2016 they will accommodate grade R to 12.
The school is situated a few kilometres out of the town, on the R555.
“I did not want the school to be in the crowded area, children will concentrate effectively in a quiet environment, and they will also be away from criminals roaming the streets and drugs lords.
Hillchrist will offer subjects such as music, physics, art, maths, biology and many more. Already, a science lab and a computer lab are being erected at the school
It will also boast a tennis court and soccer field and the owner plans to build a swimming pool in future so kids can enjoy different sporting codes. It will have its own library and a cafeteria as well.
“This town is growing to an extent that the schools around are unable to accommodate most of the kids, this school will give parents another option,” said Chiringigwa.
He also said that they aimed to help children from areas where English was rarely spoken. Chiringigwa highlighted that there was a high demand for quality education in Burgersfort due to development in the area and stressed that children needed to have a solid foundation from grade R.
The school has a programme for matric rewrite and the owner appealed to interested learners to register for the exams. For more info on the matric rewrite, learners can contact Chiringigwa on 074-027-5844.
