Men busted for crack and heroin possession

MBOMBELA – Two men, believed to be from Tanzania, were arrested for the possession of cocaine and heroin in Valencia and the CBD on Tuesday. The street value of the drugs was estimated at R30 100.
According to a SAPS media release, a 24-year-old man was arrested in the city centre when officers noticed a suspicious-looking car at a filling station. They conducted a search and found 15 units of cocaine in the vehicle. When police took the suspect to his home in Valencia to confirm his residential address, they found a 32-year-old man in the house.
They searched the premises and confiscated 270 units of heroin, 18 rocks of cocaine and R70 000 in cash in the latter’s room.
The two suspects appeared in the Nelspruit’s Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of and dealing in drugs. The outcome of the court appearance wasn’t available at the time of going to print.
Police have praised the White River K9 unit, the detectives of Mbombela and all other parties involved.
Provincial commissioner Lt Gen Mark Magadlela, urged the community to become more involved in reporting these cases.
“It is only through community participation that together we can defeat these crimes,” Magadlela said.
