MALALANE – An internet dating scam has also almost also caught single women in the town of Malalane. When Corridor Gazette did some investigation, documents from as far as 2011 were found which had been lodged, at the time, in the Western Cape High Court. The money lost by gullible and lonely women then already amounted to more than R5 million.
This international scam, which is under investigation by the Hawks and police in the USA, is according to a journalist at IOL News, originated in Cape Town, where it is still being run from.
