Trial against alleged murderer postponed
Despite the charge of intimidation, Khoza also faces three separate charges. These included that of the murder of Mbandze, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and that of assaulting Magagula by hacking him with a butcher knife.
The trial of intimidation levelled against the alleged Honey Bird Farm murderer, Doctor Khoza, was postponed to July 9.
Khoza briefly appeared in the Low’s Creek Periodic Court last Thursday on charges of intimidating witnesses in the case of the murder of Daniel Sibusiso Mbandze (55).
The accused’s new appointed state lawyer requested the case to be postponed to July 9 as he needed time to familiarise himself with it and prepare for trial. The state was ready to proceed and all three complainants – Mpho Magagula, Amos Dludlu and Frank Nkosi, including the accused, Khoza were in court to testify. The accused was currently being detained at Low’s Creek Satelite Police Station.

These included that of the murder of Mbandze, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm to his girlfriend Winnie Mbandze and that of assaulting Magagula by hacking him with a butcher knife. Winnie is Mbandze’s daughter.
The accused had already been found guilty on the assault charge and sentencing will take place in July. Tomorrow (Thursday June 18) Khoza will reappear in the Low’s Creek Periodic Court on two charges of allegedly murdering Mbandze on March 26 at Honey Bird Farm by stabbing him before setting his room on fire to conceal evidence, and that of assaulting Magagula.
Isaac Mbandze, Daniel’s brother said the community of Low’s Creek will be at the court to oppose Khoza’s bail and they feel “he is unfit to live within their society”.
