Manhunt on for assault suspects

Police in Driekoppies are on a manhunt for seven men who brutally attacked three young men in Nhlabavielle in the area on June 18.

DRIEKOPPIES -The group, armed with pangas and butcher knives, dragged the men, all in their early 20s, out of their house and assaulted them on the street, before fleeing the scene.

One of the men was stabbed and another seriously hurt. The third man escaped with minor injuries.

According to the investigating officer, Const Given Nguyaza, Mr Nkosinathi Vincent Nthale died on the scene of the attack while Mr Sibusiso Mantshisntshi is fighting for his life in the hospital.

The reason for the attack is not known, but the police are investigating a case of murder and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The police are urging the community to come forward with any information.
