SAPS appeal to members of the public for information on hijackers

No arrests have been made after four suspects hijacked a 40-year-old woman in her driveway at Mzinti.

TONGA -According to the victim, she was returning from a church service last Tuesday when the incident occurred.

She parked her vehicle at the gate to open it, when two unknown males pointed a firearm at her.

Her offenders instructed her to get back into her car before they drove away with her.

On the way they stopped and picked up another two suspects whose faces were covered with hats. Along the way the men demanded her cellphone and handbag in which her wallet and bank cards were.

They then abandoned her in Mbuzini and drove away with the vehicle.

Police were alerted shortly after the incident and investigations led to the recovery of the abandoned vehicle on a mountain in the bush.

According to police the suspects are still on at large.

Tonga Police Station commander, Brig Velisiwe Mdaka, appeals to the community to help with information that will lead to the arrest of these suspects so that they can be stopped in their tracks, before causing more trouble in the community.
