Good samaritan is hijacked
Last week Friday a 28 year-old male in Mangweni was hijacked by two armed men after stopping to assist in what appeared to be a situation requiring assistance.
TONGA – According to a media statement issued by the Tonga SAPS the incident happened around 21:30.
The victim alleged that he was on his way from Mangweni when he noticed a vehicle with its hazard lights switched on next to the road.
He stopped to check if he could assist when he was approached by two unknown males who threatened him at gunpoint, and instructed him to return with them to his vehicle.
Once inside the suspects reportedly ordered him to drive to an isolated location where he was ordered out of the vehicle. They then searched him and took his cellphone.
He was instructed to close his eyes and count up to 5 000 While he was counting the suspects then fled away with his white Toyota .
Police are still investigating the incident.
