LYDENBURG – Local police are seeking the rightful owners of stolen goods that were discovered in town. According to Capt Koos Helberg, a water pump, lawnmower and a bag are safely kept at the local station and the owners can collect them.
“The water pump and lawnmower were discovered by officers while patrolling the streets in town. The suspects who were found in possession of the goods fled the scene immediately after they saw the officers.
“We believed they stole the goods somewhere in town and assumed the police were coming to arrest them,” he said. The bag fell from a trailer. “A motorist who was driving behind the vehicle picked it up and brought it to us.
We ask the community to help us locate the owners. If the goods belong to you, you can visit the station to collect them,” said Helberg.
