Last call for first-year university students to take a step in shaping their future!
The foundation is offering individuals that show potential in entrepreneurial talent an opportunity to develop as responsible entrepreneurs by applying for the university Fellowship opportunity.

The deadline for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation University Fellowship is fast-approaching, applications for first-year university students close on August 31, 2015.
The foundation is offering individuals that show potential in entrepreneurial talent an opportunity to develop as responsible entrepreneurs by applying for the university Fellowship opportunity.
The Foundation is of a firm belief that a solid education is the starting point to any entrepreneurial journey.
The Foundation supports degrees in the fields of Commerce, Engineering and Science (excluding medicine), Law or Humanities (majoring in Politics, Philosophy or Economics) and only candidates furthering their education at the following universities can apply: Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, TSiBA, Western Cape, Stellenbosch, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan, Rhodes or Free State.
The Candidate Fellow’s university studies are covered by a full undergraduate scholarship that includes tuition, university residence and a book allowance as well as a monthly stipend. This support is to ensure that the Candidate Fellow is able to purely focus on their academics and entrepreneurial development.
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation exists to identify, support and develop talented young Southern Africans who have the potential to become high impact responsible entrepreneurs and make a valuable difference to the social and economic fabric of South Africa.
Developing high impact entrepreneurs is, however, only the means to an end: the ultimate purpose of the Foundation is to make a real and enduring difference not only to the lives of those that they have invested in, but also to the country and the region at large.
This is the core purpose and the vision of the Foundation: to make a long-term positive impact that liberates the possibility of a great South Africa. The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is the social responsibility initiative of Allan Gray Limited and the Orbis Groups in South Africa.
It is funded annually by a donation of a minimum of 7% of the taxed profits of the Allan Gray Limited and Orbis Groups, which has committed to making this donation to the Foundation in perpetuity.
As profits may fluctuate, this commitment is backed up by a capital endowment of over R1 billion donated by Mr. Allan WB Gray, the founder of Allan Gray Limited and Orbis Groups.
