Suspect arrested for possession of suspected stolen properties

According to police spokesman, Const Victoria Maluleke, the suspect was nabbed while driving on the Steelpoort Road. “His car looked suspicious. We stopped him and asked for permission to search the vehicle. To our shock we found lots of cables inside. He could not explain where he got them from," Maluleke said.

BURGERSFORT – Local police arrested a 35-year-old man who is suspected of dealing in stolen copper cable.

The success came when police were monitoring the protests that were happening on the R555 on August 11. According to police spokesman, Const Victoria Maluleke, the suspect was nabbed while driving on the Steelpoort Road. “His car looked suspicious. We stopped him and asked for permission to search the vehicle. To our shock we found lots of cables inside. He could not explain where he got them from,” Maluleke said.

The police arrested the suspect and he was charged with possession of suspected stolen goods. He was to appear in the Burgersfort Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, August 20. For more on this article, grab a copy of the Steelburger/Lydenburg News this Friday.
