Bowling club host successful competition

In addition to the activities, the players enjoyed breakfast and lunch while socialising.

It was survival of the fittest last Saturday at Lydenburg Bowling Club when teams of the province battled it out on the field during the trips open matches.

They started playing in the morning until later in the afternoon when the winners of the day, Lowveld Country Club were announced.

The Waterval Boven Club scooped second place and Malelane Bowling Club came third. In addition to the activities, the players enjoyed breakfast and lunch while socialising.

Palling Ferreira, vice-chairman of the club, said that they would like the community to change the mindset of believing that bowling was for old people. “Bowling is not an old-man’s game, young people can also play because it is a family activity. Everyone is welcome to join the club,” he said.

“We would like to thank the members for putting together a great day, it was such a success,” he added.

The local club will host a trout triangle bowling game on October 3.
