Residents of West Acres and Sonpark areas were disturbed late last night after two separate sets of shots were reportedly heard in the vicinity of Madiba Drive.
Some who heard it took to social media in an uproar. One Facebook user reported hearing “double tap”shots.
But mnr. Jacques Meiring of Bossies Community Justice (BCJ) says the first sounds were from a car backfiring.
It is, however, believed that shots were fired a little more than an hour ago in the vicinity of Rob Ferreira Hospital after police chased after suspects following a house robbery.
Police are still investigating.
