Eager golfers tee off in aid of rugby’s golden oldies

The Chrome Club helped local rugby team, Kruppel Buffels, to raise funds for their tour to Cape Town.
This Steelpoort team will represent Tubatse in the Golden Oldies Rugby tourney starting on September 23 in the Western Cape.
The club hosted a golf day last Saturday to raise funds for the team which comprises mostly of oldies.
According to the team manager, Hannes Kruger for players to qualify for the team, they must be between the ages of 35 and 90.

Kruger said the tourney was an opportunity for players to show all those skills they have acquired in younger days while still enjoying the sport.
Kruger told the publication that the funds raised on the day were going to be revealed in a period of two weeks.
“We have not calculated the amount we made on the day, but the locals supported us immensely. The support we received was awesome,” he said.
Locals were confident that their team was going to perform wonders.
“There is a lot of talent from our players, we believe this year our team will be victorious,” they said. The entrance fee for the golf day was R250 per person.
