SAPS warn community against fraudsters

A Ugandan national was arrested by the Barberton SAPS on Friday on a charge of fraud.
The male suspect allegedly deceived people by claiming he was an herbalist who could make them rich if they first pay a large amount of money for his services.
He was arrested after he had fled to Durban. He allegedly tricked the complainant into giving him an amount of R36 400. According to Barberton SAPS spokesman Const Tutu Nkosi the suspect is not registered as a herbalist.
“We urge the community to be aware of such schemes,” said Nkosi. She also requested the community not to become victims of crime but to report practices such as these at once.
