GALLERY: Locals enjoy sweet treats to aid kids with cancer

Shoppers at I’langa Mall could make a sweet contribution to the Cupcakes of Hope Foundation on Saturday by buying one of several artistically decorated cupcakes.
A uniquely designed cupcake cost R10, of which the profit went directly to the Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer fund. The foundation was launched nationally in 2012 to assist children with cancer. This year’s beneficiaries include Mark Scott, young son of well-known sports commentator, Scot Scott and about 30 other kids with advanced stages of cancer.

Cupcakes of Hope hosts several fund-raisers during the year and since September is Children Cancer Month, it wanted to do something extra special to help families which struggle to keep body and soul together after paying for their kids’ treatment.
A few of the beneficiaries are orphans and do not have families to help pay for their treatment. A percentage of the Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer fund will go towards them.
