The prolonged excessively hot weather we have been experiencing these couple of days is no coincidence. According to an article published yesterday by Eyewitness News Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Gauteng is experiencing a heatwave.
The article states that the South African Weather Service has issued a heatwave warning for the next few days. The provinces have already seen a rise in temperatures averaging around 30°C.Very hot conditions are expected to persist until Friday, October 9.
Paramedics have advised people to take precautions against heatstroke and to avoid outdoor activity when possible. Signs or symptoms of heatstroke or exhaustion include severe headaches, weakness, nausea, muscle cramps and severe thirst.
