Man wins R50 000 to build his dream home
A regular KFC customer's loyalty paid off when he recently won R50 000 for his dream home in the Win a Million for Your Dream Home competition.
Mr Lawrence Mathebula, a 34-year-old of Mkhuhlu, said he was astonished to find the KFC team outside his door a few weeks ago and couldn’t believe he had actually won a competition for the first time in his life.
Mathebula was the 10th of 12 who each won R50 000 weekly home improvements. A grand prize of R1 million for their dream home was also up for grabs.
All customers had to do was dial a number and enter the unique code on their till slip from June 23 and September 21.
KFC Africa’s chief marketing officer, Mr Mike Middleton, says it truly cares about connecting with customers and adding value to their lives and this competition was an exciting opportunity to reward customers and make their dreams come true.
Mathebula, a taxi driver under a local association, says he loves KFC and that the winning meal was a Streetwise 2 he had bought at Ushaka Marine World while on holiday in Durban.
He says he entered the competition twice, but never expected to win anything.
He plans to use this money to build a home for him and his two sons, which he believes will change their lives for the good. “My sons and I have lived with my extended family in my father’s home and have never really had our own space. Having our own home will make them happy and allow me to be a better parent.”
He says his family is very happy for him as he will finally have his own home to share with his children.
