Sign up and call in for intervention

LYDENBURG – Two men took it upon themselves to start a public initiative to improve safety and security in and around town.
Lydenburg Crime Intervention (LCI) is the brainchild of Mr Deon Broekman and Mr Johan Dominique Harmse.
Broekman is the private hazmat operator of Rapid Response and Harmse is a qualified advanced life-support (ALS) paramedic. They saw a need for definite crime intervention in town and came up with this idea.
LCI will operate using the Zello application which is compatible with any Android phone, laptop or PC. Zello is a free push-to-talk application.
“Zello conversations are almost as fast as face-to-face conversations and faster than online. If an emergency occurs, this application is the fastest way to get help and real-time response.
“LCI is supported by a fully fledged incident management service, co-coordinator and joint-emergency and crime-prevention role players,” explains Harmse.
He will, in case of a medical emergency, be dispatched to the house. “That is why when you join LCI, I will gather all medical-related information of the clients. This includes all medical history, possible allergies and other critical medical information required.”
Harmse will also install the Zello application on all of those residing in the house’s phones and give training on how to use the application in case of an emergency.
LCI offers dispatch, assistance and the monitoring of armed-reaction services, intermediate life-support paramedic, ALS paramedic (only when requested by an ALS or a tactical-intervention expert), fire and rescue services, trauma counselling, intermediate drug information and intervention, general roadside advice and the dispatch of all relevant parties in any emergency within South Africa (extra costs for subscribers account outside Lydenburg municipal area are applicable).
As Broekman explains, “Whether you have an emergency in Mbombela, Johannesburg, Cape Town or even Mozambique, we can immediately dispatch help via our Zello connection with various other rescue units around South Africa. Help is thus immediately on hand.”
It also offers child tracking. “LCI will ensure that all schedule-one crimes get proper SAPS attention, follow-ups and regular feedback to our subscribers.”
Extra services that LCI offer include daily patrols, the feeding of dogs and cats when you are on holiday and post-incident consulting.
For only R50 per month you can rest assured that you will be covered for all emergencies.
A small joining fee of R80 is required.
