TONGA – On September 25 at about 02:30 in Naas, a 27-year-old man was robbed by three unknown assailants. The victim alleged that he was asleep when he heard people talking inside his house. While he was calling for help, a suspect appeared and threatened him with a firearm. Two suspects appeared and tied him up with cable. Before fleeing on foot they stole a Hyundai flat-screen TV, amplifier, Samsung Galaxy S3 cellphone, and his Toyota Yaris car keys. According to police reports, the men gained entry through an open window. Meanwhile in KaMhlushwa, a 29-year-old woman was also robbed by an unknown man. The victim alleged that she was asleep in her bedroom when the suspect entered the house and held her at gunpoint. He demanded money and searched her room before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, and a Sony E4 cellphone. Tonga Police Station’s acting station commander, Col Bhutane Sibiya, appeals to community members to assist them in stopping crime. Sibiya asked if anyone had information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects, they could contact Lt Col Nancy Mnisi on 072-603-8438. “We are together in the fight,” Sibiya concluded.
