Brother is charged with murder
The suspect, Mr David Mkhatshwa, according to police, also had visible bruises on his body suspectedly sustained in the fight
TONGA – On October 6 the SAPS arrested a 42-year-old man for the murder of his 29-year-old brother.
According to police reports Mr David Mkhatshwa killed Mr Khilithi Mkhatshwa after they had an argument. The suspect alleged that the deceased entered his house and accused him of searching his home. They started quarrelling after which a physical fight ensued.
He grabbed a knife and stabbed Khilithi in the chest.. Police were summoned to the scene and arrested the suspect, who according to them, also had visible bruises on his body suspectedly sustained in the fight.
Mkhatshwa appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court, and is currently out on bail. He is expected back in court soon, pending further investigation.
Acting station commander of the Tonga Police Station, Lt Col Bhutani Sibiya, advises individuals who are caught in serious disagreements, to seek the assistance of a third party rather than taking matters into their own hands.
“Nobody is above the law so whatever you do you shall bear the consequences of that action. Let us work together in the fight against crime,” Sibiya added.
