
SABIE – An alleged drug dealer was arrested in Green View in the CBD around midday today.
According to provincial police spokesman, Brig Selvy Mohlala, a 35-year-old Nigerian national was arrested at about 12:00.
Officials then proceeded to the suspect’s home in Harmony Hill where drugs including cocaine, crystal cocaine, CAT and meth, estimated to the street value of about R44 000, were confiscated.
The arrest formed part of Operation Fiela. It is national crime combating operation conducted by police and translates to “to sweep clean”.
“The suspect is expected to appear in Sabie’s Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of dealing in drugs. This is a major breakthrough to us and the community at large. The suspect is believed to be the main drug dealer in Sabie,” he said.
