Golden concert is not to be missed
Senior citizens of the Lydenburg Dienssentrum for elderly will host their annual fund-raising concert, Goue Jare, on November 6 at the NG Moedergemeente church hall.
LYDENBURG – Senior citizens of the Lydenburg Dienssentrum for elderly will host their annual fund-raising concert, Goue Jare, on November 6 at the NG Moedergemeente church hall.
Members of the centre and local pensioners will perform a drama, a musical variety and poetry. Dienssentrum is a non-profit organisation (NPO) providing care for the elderly, in-home services, transport facilities, recreation, meals and other services geared towards senior citizens. The aim of the show is to raise funds.
Shaunette Erasmus, manager, said they needed support from the public for the project to be a success. “As an NPO we need donations to make ends meet and it is only through fund-raising projects that we can raise some funds to keep the daily services running smoothly,” Erasmus said.
Tickets for the event are available at the centre or call the office on 013-235-3875. The concert will start at 18:30 and light snacks will be on sale at the venue.
