Truck drags teen 10 metres before crashing into house

LYDENBURG – About half an hour ago a driver of a truck with a trailer travelling in town lost control, hit a high school pupil dragging him 10 metres down a slope before crashing into a house in Viljoen Street.
The 15-year-old Skhila High School learner, only known as Abraham, and his friends were walking along the pavement when the incident occurred.
According to witnesses, the truck’s cabin had tipped over at a stop street. The driver jumped out of the cabin and the truck zigzagged across the road before hitting the boy and crashing into the house.
Witnesses told the newspaper that a motorist in a vehicle driving in front of it had started to shout to pedestrians to get out of the way. “If he hadn’t done that, more people might have been injured or even killed.”
