Summerhill grade R’s go camping in the KNP

A sleepover in the Kruger National Park on October 26 proved the grade R class of Summerhill Prep were adventurers at heart.

The grade R class of Summerhill Prep School packed their camping gear and were then transported to Pretoriuskop Rest Camp, spotting elephants, zebras and giraffe on the way.

The six-year-olds all helped to erect the tent for the night, put out their sleeping bags and gear and headed down to the swimming pool for a picnic.

The group went star gazing, got to braai and marshmellows with a chocolate fondue were a sweet end to the meal.

Although the grade R’s couldn’t wait to go to sleep in the tent and even attempted to tell ghost stories, they couldn’t keep their eyes open.

A Wimpy breakfast filled tummies before the group headed out on a wonderful game drive.

The annual camp helped the little ones live out the Summerhill values of bravery, responsibility and kindness.

A huge thank you goes out to Gap Tours who kindly transported the group to the Kruger National Park.
