TONGA – A love triangle has resulted in the death of a woman’s ex-boyfriend and a murder charge to her new lover’s name.

A 24-year-old man of Mangweni appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder. The suspect was arrested on December 14 after he had allegedly fatally stabbed a 25-year-old man.

It is alleged that the victim broke off a relationship with his girlfriend, but it did not sit well with him when he realised that she had found another lover.

The man apparently took a knife and attacked the new boyfriend and his ex-girlfriend. Sadly he himself ended up in the clinic where he was certified dead.

A case of murder has been opened against the other man at Tonga station. Police commander Brig Velisiwe Mdaka condemned cruel acts like this.

Mdaka said if someone, or a couple, has problems in their relationship, they should seek help and try to find a solution to the issue rather than creating more trouble.

“Wrong plus wrong does not make a right,” said Mdaka.
