Suspects arrested at Lebombo for alleged money laundering

The confiscated amount of money was 5.5 million US dollars.

KOMATIPOORT –  Three Mozambican nationals were arrested this morning at Lebombo point of entry during a joint operation by SAPS and SARS.

According to provincial police spokesman, brig Selvy Mohlala, they trio was arrested after money was found hidden in a compatment in a silver Toyota hilux double cab.

The confiscated amount of money was 5.5million US dollars (R 82million). The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday for money laundering.
