Manhunt for armed robbers underway
All perpetrators are still at large and are considered armed and dangerous

TONGA – This past weekend a number of house-robbery cases were reported to the local police and a manhunt is currently underway.
On Friday at 00:30 three unknown suspects broke into a 66-year-old pensioner, Ms Leah Mdluli’s house while she was asleep.
According to Mdluli, one of the men threatened her with a knife and the others demanded money. The took an undisclosed amount of cash and two cellphones before fleeing the scene.
Meanwhile in another incident on the same night at around 02:00, two unknown robbers broke into Mr Qhawelethu Mabuza’s house at Mzinti while he was asleep.
He was tied up in a spare room with a belt and covered by a blanket and his home was ransacked. By the time Mabuza managed to untie himself the suspects had already fled. His laptop, cologne, a cellphone and nursing epaulettes were stolen.
Then at about 02:45 three suspects broke into Ms Dorris Nkomo’s house at Ntunda. The 54-year-old woman was awoken by a robber pointing a firearm at her and the attackers demanded money. They then ransacked the house, taking an undisclosed amount of cash, and a firearm belonging the victim’s late husband after which they fled the scene.
According to Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, all perpetrators are still at large and are considered armed and dangerous.
