Spotlight now on alleged thief

MECKLENBURG – The alleged spotlight thief has finally been nabbed by the Mecklenburg SAPS. Mr Solanka Moropa (30) apparently terrorised locals and the Marula Platinum Mine by allegedly stealing these lights.

According to Const Kgalake Mampuru of the Mecklenburg police, Moropa supposedly stole the lights between 2014 and 2015.

“He allegedly stole more than 300 spotlights and apparently sold them to local shops in Diphale and surrounding villages. Our investigation team led by Det Com Maj Martin Seabi, successfully managed to recover 32 lights at different shops. All the witnesses named the same suspect as the provider of the lights,” Mampuru said.

Moropa appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on January 19. He was not granted bail. It’s not yet known when he will reappear.
