Darkness looms over town

For the third time in three years Eskom is threatening to cut the bulk supply of electricity to the whole town. On January 22 a notice was received that power cuts were looming for the entire Thaba Chweu Municipality (TCM) as from April 11.

On January 22 a notice was received that power cuts were looming for the entire Thaba Chweu Municipality (TCM) as from April 11.

In 2014 AfriForum had to intervene by obtaining a High Court interdict to prevent a blackout to the district.

In the latest notice, Eskom gave notice to all parties which were likely to be materially and adversely affected by the contemplated discontinuation of electricity supply to TCM on April 11.
