Retirees invited to join fellowship club
Those of (slightly) advanced years looking for a monthly outing of fellowship and good conversation once a month is invited to join the Professional Retired Business People’s Club.
Despite the slightly misleading name, members do not have to be professional, nor from the business world. The club was originally an offshoot of Rotary but has been independent for some time.
At present there are about 40 members and they have room for several more.
The club meets every third Tuesday of the month at the Ingwenyama Sports & Conference Resort. During this gathering, members can socialise and listen to a short talk on an interesting topic such as the solar system, Mercy Air, forestry fires, orchids, The Rotary Club, Kiaat Hospital and wagon trails in the Lowveld, as well as the occasional show of a member’s holiday pictures after a trip abroad. Members then all enjoy a two-course lunch provided by Ingwenyama’s kitchen, with coffee. A cash bar is also available.
“The name of the game is fellowship – an occasion when we meet people we do not see very often perhaps, make new friends and enjoy a chat and a drink. So if any reader or couple is looking for a relaxing entertaining gathering, please contact us and attend as a guest to start with,” member Simon Evered urges.
