
KOMATIPOORT – The accused was reportedly on duty with Malatsi at Lafarge Komatipoort on the night of his death, April 24. He allegedly directed the other guards, via a telephone call, to Malatsi’s body the next day.
During the police investigation, the accused could not be found or contacted on his cellphone, but officers later managed to track him down and arrest him.
He appeared in the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court on April 26 on a charge of murder and was denied bail.
He was remanded in police custody and is expected back in the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court for his formal bail hearing on June 14.
