Local hockey boys show their fighting spirit

The Lydenburg Hockey Club had a bitter-sweet day during their league games last Saturday at Curro Nelspruit. Their first game was against Impala 1 Hockey Club and the local team lost 3-1.

With Petrus Malaka scoring their only goal, this was not a good game. Their loss to the Impalas revived their fighting spirit, however, and they managed to triumph in their second game later that day.

They played against White River Hockey Club and won 6-4.

According to Malaka, it was not an easy day, but they would not go down without a fight. “Even though our first game did not have good results we managed to improve.”

“We are left with three games and if we do well, we will go through to the finals. We only need 23 points to make it through, so we hope that in our next games we will be victorious.”
