Stolen Gauteng-vehicle recovered in Naas

Two vigilant police officers helped track down a truck that was stolen in Gauteng.

TONGA – Police recovered a stolen tow truck on Thursday, after tracking it to rental rooms in Naas.

Sgt. Zodwa Mahlalela and Const. Nomsa Lephoko of Tonga SAPS were on patrol, when they received information regarding a stolen truck. SAPS and the tracking company traced the vehicle and found it parked at rental rooms in Naas.

The vehicle was hijacked on Wednesday at 20:00 in Kempton Park. According to the driver, a VW Golf 6 with police markings and three suspects in full police uniform were involved in the incident.

A case of carjacking was opened at Lenasia South SAPS.

No arrests have been made.

The truck was booked at the Komatipoort Vehicle Theft Unit.
