Here are the preliminary results so far.

The entire country went to the polls on Wednesday, August 3 and Lydenburg/Mashishing residents also did their part by casting their vote at various voting stations in and around town. Here are the preliminary results so far.

The African National Congress (ANC) has taken the lead with eleven wards in the bag while the Democratic Alliance (DA) has won three wards.

The ANC is leading the municipality with 62, 03 per cent, with the DA on 24, 21 per cent and the EFF on 7, 32 per cent.

Bushbuckridge Residents Association (BRA) got 1222 with 2.25% support, Vryheidsfront Plus (FF+) got 950 votes with a 1.75% support, African People’s Convention (APC) 275 votes with a 0.51% support, Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) got 200 votes with 0.37% support, Congress of the people (COPE) got 171 votes with 0.31% support and African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) got 165 with a 0.3% support.
