Homeless family needs your support

Shortly afterwards it was on fire and burnt down with everything inside. We did not have clothes and a place to sleep.

MASHISHING – A family whose home burnt down three weeks ago in Marikana, needs donations. According to Mr Tshepo Malatjie, owner of the shack, this occurred after he had a fight with Mr Tebogo Mahumane while they were drinking at local bottle store.
“He threatened to burn my shack.

Later when I was on my way home, I saw a suspicious person walking outside my house. Shortly afterwards it was on fire and burnt down with everything inside. We did not have clothes and a place to sleep. We had to ask for shelter from our neighbours,” he said.

Mahumane was arrested for arson the next morning.
Police spokesman, Capt Alfred Kaizer Moela, said he appeared in the Lydenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday August 8.

“The case was postponed for further investigation. He remains in custody,” said Moela.

Those who would like to help the Malatjie family can contact the Ondersteuningsraad Lydenburg on 013-235-2847.
