Ga-Mampuru shops looted as part of June 30 protest

Currently its calm in Burgersfort, Steelpoort and Ohrigstad, with no disturbances to traffic.

The Limpopo SAPS have arrested community members in Ga- Mampuru for allegedly looting foreign owned shops.

Several spaza shops in the Ga-Mampuru area were looted between midnight and 02:00.

Some of the remaining spaza shop owners emptied their shops and temporarily withdrew from the area as a precautionary measure.

As of 06:00, all roads in and around Burgersfort, Ohrigstad and Steelpoort remained open and accessible.

Limpopo SAPS and private security urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or incidents to the relevant authorities.

The SAPS, private security providers, and other emergency services remain on high alert and continue to monitor the area through increased visibility patrols to maintain public safety and respond promptly to any incidents.
