Refuse not collected in and around town

Thaba Chweu Municipality (TCM) is currently not collecting refuse in some of the areas in and around town.

LYDENBURG – Thaba Chweu Municipality (TCM) is currently not collecting refuse in some of the areas in and around town. This follows after one of the two trucks it was using had broken down.In some areas the refuse bags have been left unattended outside the gate for four days.

According to Mr Puleng Mapheto, communications manager of TCM, they are busy working on the problem and in the process of getting a service provider that will assist in collecting refuse.

“We want to urge members the community affected to be patient while we resolve the issue. We request that they keep the refuse bins and we will update them when the problem is resolved. As the municipality, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
