Entheos’ night in Scotland impresses at JamJar Lounge

LYDENBURG – A splendid authentic Scottish night was hosted by Entheos Christian School at JamJar Lounge on Saturday.
The men swapped their pants for kilts, Scotland’s national anthem was sung and the tables were decorated with the Scottish thistle and tartan fabric.
The guests were spoiled with a five-course Scottish-themed dinner which was prepared by well-known local chef, Leon Roelofse.
The menu consisted of trout pâté on hash browns, haggis on colcannon with a berry sauce, palate cleanser Iron brew sorbet, shepherd’s pie, pumpkin crumble and hot whisky and marmalade pudding with Drambuie custard. The master of ceremony was Jan Neethling, who entertained the guests with his beautiful melodies and sharp wit.
The event was a fund-raiser in aid of Entheos Christian School’s building project. Being a private school, it relies mainly on school fees to remain functional. The school recently moved to a new building and has completed the first of the two phases it has planned to build. It now needs funds for phase two.
According to the principal, Mariaan Lamprecht, the school appreciates the support received from the public. “We know there are many events around town every weekend yet they came and supported this venture to raise funds.
“We want to thank everyone who helped us organise it, we wouldn’t have hosted a successful event without them. A special thank you has to go out to JamJar Lounge, Elsa Liebenberg, Gerda Patterson, Lizle Koekemoer and Aley Storm.”
